The Public services industry encompasses a wide range of businesses across the economy that are publicly funded to provide essential services. This includes local or national government, the NHS, and other governmentally funded health and social care organisations, education, and emergency services.

More than 5 million people are employed within the public sector, accounting for almost 1 in 6 of the UK’s workforce. With the scope of public services within Lincolnshire, including the 9 district councils and the 7 hospitals, there are a wealth of opportunities for new graduates.

There is currently a strong drive to boost recruitment for nurses and ambulance workers in the East Coast region. The NHS United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust is working closely with the University of Lincoln to fill the skills shortage in this area.
