Lincolnshire has so many opportunities that you might not expect – so be sure to look around!
Also, make use of as many voluntary opportunities as you can as it can help you develop and apply the skills from your degree into different areas.
Course:
Sport and Exercise Science
Job:
Football Development Officer (Disability and Inclusion) at Lincolnshire FA
My Story:
The University has a really impressive Sports Science Programme, and the city centre campus was a bonus! I loved the city and the balance of city life and green space, and ever since I came to an offer holder day, I knew I didn’t want to go anywhere else. Originally, I chose Sports Science as I wanted to go into Football Coaching. However, during my time working in Spain coaching and teaching English with Sunderland’s Foundation of Light, I decided that coaching was much more of a hobby than something I wanted to do for my career. It was through other voluntary roles, such as on Lincolnshire FA’s Youth Council, that I realised sports development was something I wanted to do full time – and luckily a few months ago my dream role came up!
I like the city and think that there’s a lot going on despite its size. Even across the county, there’s actually some lovely towns out there, some that are really worth visiting. I’m lucky that I get to get out-and-about in my new role visiting new clubs and partners because Lincolnshire has a lot to offer!
Be Inspired!
